LOVE ABODE, CYPRUS :Archaic Paphos and Lofty Troodos

After an amazing city life experience in urban limassol we headed to the cultural city of Paphos..
We hopped on the car and started a bit early to see Petra Tou Roumiou on our way to Paphos…

Petra Tou Romiou ,Rock of the Greek also known as Aphrodite’s Rock.
Myth says it’s the birthplace of Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of love..Over a period of our vacation ,I noticed the Greek obsession for Aphrodite and her life events. Truly love abode..
I was mersmerised by the beauty of this place..a huge rock in the backdrop of an turquoise ocean..sighhh

The beach was rocky and was not an ideal place to swim about but this beach was offering an amazing shade and the cool water underneath was the perfect getaway for the wanderer couple like us..

The sun was heading overhead and we were hungry enough to crash on some good lunch..we went to nearby Petra Tou Romiou Restaurant to savour some fresh sea fishes and chilled beer..this place was having a panoramic view but its not a great tavern as compared to the rest on our trip..

After a hearty meal all I needed was a cool place to crash in and have a siesta..We checked in Vrachia Resorts. This apartment was posh and was very Grecian style with white painted walls and blue doors..with an overlooking verandah and a roomy balcony to afford hilltop view of the sea..i loved this place…

We went for an evening stroll to explore more in this resort and we walked down the hill and took an offroad to experience an amazing sunset in the pebbley beach..pebbles of all colours shone like precious stones under the orange hue of the setting sun..it was truly memorable for me and my better half…

Exploring the town on feet gives you an upper hand and varied choices than zooming pass from a car..this is my own notion..we walked down the lanes to see more of the town and finally landed up ina country place called Pit Stop,an American diner with brewed beer and some bites but the best part was the cheerful crowd and the tapping live music..all under the open sky..we called it a night after a sumptuous steaky meal at Pitstop..

The morning was sunny and bright, perfect for some action..we headed towards the busy Coral Bay hushing and gushing with locals and tourist..we headed towards the boat tours and got into a glass bottom boat which took us for a 2 hour ride showing us the sponge, some corals and wrecked ship underneath the sea.

The next stop for the day was UNESCO heritage centre Paphos Archeological park having some great collections from the pre-historic and middle agesWe witnessed some great mosaic work from the Roman era..was a long walk indeed…

A afternoon slumber after a hot day walk…indeed worth it.we walked to the bay area in the paphos to explore more life in this city and it was a pleasure to watch the crowded alleys in the bay area hanging over the eateries and shopping areas. I too had my own good share of shopping for soveniers…after hovering around for a while we settled for a yummy indian dinner true, home calling style with some spicy indian kebabs…and mushroom pulao..at Jayanta Indian Restaurant..the night was falling…

Mountains calling….Troodos was our next destination..after a whirly ride uphill we reached our place,Hotel Two flowers at Pedulous.
The mountains from the sea was just an hour ride which was amazing and there was a definite drop in temperature..cooler,breezy unlike the hot summers downhill..this place was cozy and we donned our sneakers to take a peek into this small village..the view was exquisite..

we thought of trying local cuisine up the mountains…mutton kleftico, chicken souvlaki and local spirit Givania was an overall good experience…

Time to hit the bed after a sumptuous meal on the mountains..tomorrow again we start off to a new place…cya…soon….
